Uganda - British Council Connecting Classrooms Partnership
Uganda - British Council Partnership 2018 to present day
In November 2018 we were successful in our application to the British Council to obtain some funding to continue our partnership with Green Valley Primary School in Uganda. Since then our children have engaged in regular communication through the pen pal system and have worked jointly on curriculum based activities linked to responsible consumption and production. Staff from both schools have also been working together on teaching and learning projects linked to developing critical thinking skills in the classroom.
In May 2019 a team from Pilton Bluecoat CofE Academy visited Uganda to teach at the school, hold partnership meetings with the Senior Leadership team of Green Valley and work alongside their colleagues at the school.
The Headteacher of Green Valley, Mrs Irene Kamikaze and a member of the teaching staff are hoping to visit Pilton in September/October of 2019.
